Our Past Projects

The services rendered by the club during the last 45 years of its existence are matchless and some of them are mentioned below:

1. Free medical centre at cheruvannur and later at beypore from 1965 to 1974, until the government started one there.

2. 17 Mega eye surgery camps and several cataract detection camps,earlier with Dr.modi and later with aravind eye hospital and comtrust eye hospital.

3. Lion’spark and children’s park on the beach which still remains a landmark in Calicut.

4. Automatic traffic signals at palayam junction until the substitution from the government came.

5. Vasectomy camps for which we received the Kerala government award as the best camps in the state.

6. Pumphouse & Toilet at leprosy home,Chevayur.

7. Bus shelter near Ansari Park

9. Childrens mid day meal project in 3 schools of the city for several years,until the govt startedsuch projects in schools.

10. Ambulance van project at Govt Medical College.

11. Home for the homeless projects including 21 houses built in Vellayil.

12. Educational aid to needy students performing well.

13. Pipe water connection in leprosy home and several schools.

14. Immunization programme for needy children.

15. Hearing aids distribution for the hearing impaired

16. Construction of preyer hall at leprosy home,chevayur.

17. Donation of sales cabins to physically handicaped.

18. Medical camps and Diabetic detection camps in several sub urban villages.

19. Constructed a community hall in city,named after one of our presidents who died while in office. Ln.Engg.P.Balakrishnan nair,at a cost of 35 lakhs.this hall is the hub of our service.activities now and also the meeting place of the general body and board meetings. This project was completed in the year2003-2004 and inaugurated by Ln.Ashok Mehta who will be our international president for 2005-2006.
